Caramely!
Sinful! Combined with chocolate! The Dulce De Leche cake was what I baked for
my anniversary. It is sinfully rich and the perfect party cake. It tastes
awesome even without the chocolate glaze but I wold definitely recommend
combining it with a chocolate frosting or ganache at least once. After all what
is life if we do not sin once in a while?
Ingredients
1 cup brown
sugar
1 cup
butter, at room temperature
2 cups flour
1 cup Dulce
de leche
5 eggs
1 tsp baking
powder
1 tsp
vanilla essence
For the
chocolate drip
½ cup
chopped dark chocolate
1 cup cream
Preheat the
oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Grease and line a loaf tin.
Sift flour
and baking powder together.
Put the
Dulce de leche on a double boiler and stir till it becomes runny. Keep aside.
Beat
together the butter and sugar till pale and frothy. Add the eggs one at a time
beating well after each addition. Add the Dulce de leche and vanilla and mix
well. Now fold in the flour gently. Pour into the loaf tine and bake for 40 -45
minutes. Check if the cake is done by inserting a toothpick. Keep aside to cool.
Place the
cream and chocolate on a double boiler and stir till the chocolate has melted
and mixed well with the cream. Whip some more to make it shiny and smooth.
Drizzle the
chocolate drip over the cake.
