Garlic Butter Chicken

Indi Chinese food is hot news. Go to any market in any city or  the smallest of towns and you will come across a “Chinese” food stall. Now this is not actually “Chinese” food. It is in fact way way different from the #food you get in China. This is a hybrid that caters to the Indian palette. It is spicy, tangy and very ketchup. Stand near the Chinese food stalls and you can see the cook throwing in liberal amounts of soya sauce, #ketchup and #green chilli sauce. And heaven forbid but you may also occasionally see some tadka of jeera. Now anyone used to this Chinese food in India will absolutely not be able to have any kind of food in China. Big bummer.
So here is some Desi style Garlic Butter Chicken.

Ingredients

250 gms boneless chicken, cut into small cubes
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
Sprinkling of pepper powder
1 tsp salt
½ cup cornflour
1 egg
2 tbsp rice flour
8 garlic pods, chopped
2 onions, cubed
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp cornflour+4 tbsp water (make a paste)
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tbsp green chilli sauce
Salt to taste

Mix the chicken cubes, ginger garlic paste, salt and pepper powder. Keep for 10 mins. Then add the egg, cornflour and rice flour.

Keep the chicken marinated like this for about an hour. Heat some oil and deep fry the chicken cubes.

Now heat 3 butter. Saute the chopped garlic. Then add the cubed onions on high flame. Mix the soya sauce and green chilli sauce and add to the onions. Add salt. Add ¾ cups water and bring to a boil. Add the chicken pieces and lower heat. Cook for 5 minutes. Then add the cornflour paste to thicken the gravy. Your Garlic Butter Chicken is ready.
