Nutella Braided Flower Bread

I do not think I can name a single child who does not like Nutella. Kids eat it up like anything. These braided breads are stuffed with Nutella and they look so pretty too.
These might look complicated but if you can roll a chapatti then you can make these.

Ingredients

1 ½ cups flour
¼ cup sugar
Pinch of salt
Butter 2 tbsp, softened
Dry instant yeast 1 tsp
Warm water 2 tbsp (add a pinch of sugar to the water)
Warm milk to knead
½ cup Nutella

First soak yeast in 2 tbsp warm water to which a pinch of sugar has been added. The sugar helps the yeast to froth. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile mix together flour, salt, sugar and soft. Add the frothy yeast and mix well. Now use the warm milk to make a soft dough. Cover and keep aside for an hour or until it doubles up in size.
After an hour punch down the dough and divide into 4 balls. Basically you have to roll out four chapatis and layer the Nutella between them. The chapatis should be of same size. So roll out a chapatti, spread Nutella, place another chapatti on top and repeat.

The top most chapatti should not be spread with Nutella.

Now place a small overturned bowl on the top and make four equidistant slits with a knife. Slits should be at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. Then again slit each quarter into 4 pieces. So you end up with 16 equal triangles. Remember the bowl in the middle keeps a round centre intact.

Now take one triangle and twist it twice. The Nutella layers will show up in striations. Do not worry if it is not neat. After all chocolate/Nutella is supposed to be messy. Take the next triangle and twist it the other way. So one goes clockwise and the other anti clockwise. Now join the two twisted portions together to form a petal. You have 16 triangles. So you make 8 joined petals.

Cover and keep aside for half an hour to fluff up. Use milk wash or egg wash. Preheat oven at 180 degrees Celsius. Bake for 20 minutes.
